Do you have your coffee ready? The way you like it? The smell filling the room? Yes?
Good. Me, too.
Let’s get started then!
Discovery:
I got this one as part of the Samsung Book Deals by Kindle. I chose to read it because I wanted something easy and lovely in the middle of all the stress in my final year of university. It turned out to be way more!
Brainstorm:
May I say that this novel became one of my favorites? There are so many books I like… This one had that little “plus” that touched me.Β At first look this story may seem like a development of an unlikely love, but it deals with way more substance. This book deals with evergreen subjects as cultural differences and prejudices, women’s situation and judgement at the time and different places, the effects of how one’s been raised – and how it is possible to overcome all these problems with an open mind. It is very relevant and also historically believable.
Let’s give it a grade!
- Story: 4/5
- Characters: 4/5
- Style: 5/5
- The Subjective Factor: 5/5
- GPA: 4.5
Uniqueness:
I don’t think I have ever seen any books about the Etruscan, even in school we barely touched the subject, yet it seems so compelling in this novel! It definitely gave me an urge to find out everything we know about them and that time! (Look it up, it’s pretty amazing!) I also find that this book and its sequels are more culture, race, gender and even sexual orientation sensitive than most of those in the genre. And (thank god) not in a forced way!
Recommend to:
Everyone who likes historical fiction, and tired of ages and places that are so frequented in it. Also those who love seeing great character development (especially if you intend to read the next volumes in the series), and those who enjoy to see the reflection of our Today’s problems in an ancient world.
Drink tip (what to drink while reading):
Sangria. I don’t know why. Just a feeling.
Music room (what to listen to):
Classical acoustic guitar
Future:
After I finished this volume, I felt the immediate need to get the other two books in the series. I am sure I’m going to read anything else the author writes! I will also always get excited and pay attention if I hear the word ‘Etruscan”.
I hope you enjoyed my first review as well as your coffee! I’d be very happy, if you left a comment and we could all start a conversation.
See you next time! (Don’t forget to subscribe if you don’t want to forget it! π )
Hugs π
I’ve heard of this one. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I’ll put it on my TBR list.

I seriously recommend this series, I instantly became a fan! π I can’t tell why this music, but it somehow so perfectly sets the mood for this book… at least for me π Glad you like it!
